NinjaOne Apps
A built-in hub for managing all homegrown apps and third-party integrations within the NinjaOne ecosystem.
In 2023, NinjaOne underwent a tremendous retrofit to prepare the platform for Dark Mode, a commonly-requested feature, and to achieve ADA compliance for government and university clients. To accomplish these goals, the Product Design team built a design system- Origata. Despite initial pushback, Origata improved development speed, product quality, and visual consistency. Below are a few examples of components I designed.
Apps manager
In 2021, NinjaOne displayed apps and third-party integrations with rudimentary, horizontal tabs. Application pages lacked consistent UI, creating an increasingly disparate experience between older and newer options. The CEO of NinjaOne, Sal Sferlazza, desired a user-friendly and future-proofed solution as NinjaOne continued to add more applications.
A significant amount of time was spent documenting the information architecture of the available applications to understand their scopes. Once documented, I proposed an updated workflow based on the latest applications and received stakeholder approval. Numerous iterations were designed for the apps page layout based on stakeholder feedback and industry standards.
Stakeholders eventually agreed upon a tile-based layout for apps, with new integrations being available to add via modal. Settings for applications were moved to containers, with an edit button opening appropriate configuration modals.
As of 2026, the apps experience has received additional visual improvements but retains the original structure I designed.
